Lots of character with an idyllic waterside alfresco and sunbathing terrace overlooking the Fowey Estuary - it is called a studio but is so much more!

Hidden away in an area affectionately known as the 'Gucci' end of the village,  a pretty alleyway leads you to the terrace overlooking the estuary where you can unwind watching the yachts; working fishing boats; and local passenger ferry going to and fro across the water.

Inside there is lots of character with solid teak doors with portholes from an Old Union Castle passenger liner; old oak flooring; rich tongue and groove boarding; and an interesting collection of maritime antiques to make you feel at home.

The open plan living area has wonderful views from the teak windows and doors that fold back to provide a large opening to the terrace. The kitchen area has a solid oak dining table overlooking the terrace; a fun contemporary stainless steel kitchen with an Everhot traditional cooking range with grill; Miele dishwasher; and high end appliances. The sitting area with rich tongue and groove panelling and a log burner is a comfy area for relaxing with a sofa; two squashy armchairs and antiques and here behind the heavy tapestry curtains you will find an hidden alcove with a bespoke built in captain's double bed – a cosy curtained area for two! A door to the side of the alcove leads to a white family bathroom with a shower.

The Master bedroom overlooking the terrace with views of the estuary has simple neutral décor and rich dark antique furniture and an en-suite bathroom with a large bath and shower with an attractive mosaic feature.

Leading from the open plan living space is an open tread wooden staircase leading to a cosy mezzanine area with very little head space but an adventure for two children who are sure to adore the large brass porthole overlooking the estuary above their simple mattress beds!

The sheltered slate waterside terrace with uninterrupted views of the estuary has wooden garden furniture for alfresco dining and there is plenty of space for sunbathing and relaxing too!

Polruan is charming and unspoilt with pretty little fishing cottages; narrow roads and alleyways. There are a couple of shops; a lovely cafe and two welcoming local pubs. Lots of beautiful walks are on your doorstep or you can cross the estuary to Fowey using the passenger ferry running from the harbour; or the car ferry just a couple of miles away at Bodinick. Over the water at Fowey, you will find chic restaurants; specialist shops, fun cafes, pubs, two yacht clubs and a beach at Readymoney Cove. Polkerris Beach is also just a few miles from Fowey offering water sports facilities; a cafe; pub with a large terrace overlooking the beach; and a stylish restaurant/bar on the beach.
